Italian eyewear for the American sun

Good results of the fund sunglasses. In 2011 we exported sunglasses worth 1.6 billion euros, an increase of 14% compared to 2010, compared with 206 million of imports, up 9.9% compared to 2010. But who are the biggest consumers of Italian eyewear? The data provided by the Chamber of Commerce of Milan confirm that our greatest admirers are the U.S. (358 million of exports to this country, 22.6% of the total) followed by France (191 million, 12%), Spain (128 million, 8.1%). While 47.8% of imports come from East Asia, especially from China (43.2% of total Italian imports of sector, amounting to 89 million euros in 2011). The Veneto region confirms once again the queen of glasses, with 53% of active enterprises, almost 400 activities. Among the Italian provinces, the first is Belluno (244 companies, 33% nationally), followed by Italy (14.6%) and Italy (3.4%). Follow Turin and Milan (respectively represent 3.2% and 3.1% of the national total).
